American Wellhead, LLC

(acquired by Canary, LLC in 2014)

American Wellhead, LLC, headquartered in Odessa, TX since 2009, is a wellhead sales and service company for the Permian Basin and New Mexico. American Wellhead services include wellhead sales and installation, frac-stack rental and installation, field service and repair on valves and wellheads, as well as field greasing of production and fracking equipment. David Walden, a lifelong Odessan who has worked in the wellhead industry since the 1970s, founded American Wellhead in 2009, a tough year in the Permian Basin. American Wellhead worked mostly with larger independent companies, Walden said. Canary officials said their customers included major oil companies such as ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips and Chevron, along with large independent oil companies such as EOG Resources. Once acquired by Canary, LLC, the company was rebranded under the Canary, LLC umbrella in 2014.

Tri-Star Wellhead, LLC

(acquired by Canary, LLC in 2013)

Tri-Star Wellhead, LLC, headquartered in Crystal City, TX since 2006, has provided high-quality wellhead supplies and services to local oilfield companies in the area for close to seven years. Tri-Star is located in the heart of the Eagle Ford formation, but they were unable to expand beyond their current service capabilities due to their organization size. This changed in June 2013, when Canary, LLC acquired Tri-Star, which combined the resources of Canary with the prime location of Tri-Star Wellhead. For many oil and gas companies operating in the Eagle Ford formation, getting the right wellhead components has been a challenge. Although there are a handful of small, independent wellhead supply companies operating in the area, larger competitors are typically located farther away and closer to major cities, such as San Antonio or Houston. This is why Tri-Star was such an ideal fit for Canary. Once acquired by Canary, LLC, the company was rebranded under the Canary, LLC umbrella in 2013.
